For Pastoral Care
Call the church office 985-892-3177.
For Emergencies: Call the same number and press 3 to have clergy call you back. Be sure to leave your phone number.
If you are going to the hospital
Call the parish office to let us know where and when you will be hospitalized. During admission, indicate that you are a member of Christ Episcopal Church. Parishioners need to be aware that ministry is their responsibility as well as the clergy’s and that such a partnership makes ministry possible.
If you are confined to your home
If you are confined to your home because of illness, contact the parish office. Calls are made regularly by the clergy on those who are shut-in. Do not hesitate to contact the Caring Ministry if you know of a friend who is shut-in and who may be deprived of the ministry. Help keep your clergy informed.
If you wish to have Holy Communion
If you wish to have Holy Communion brought to your home or hospital, call the Caring Ministry or the parish office to request that the Sacrament be brought to you when the priest calls on you.
If you are faced with a death in your family
Contact the parish office immediately. The clergy are prepared to assist you with ministry and managing the details for burial. Please do not set the time for the funeral before contacting the clergy.
If you are planning to be married
Please contact the parish office immediately before plans are made. It is necessary to make an appointment with one of the clergy and to secure a date when the clergy and the church are available. The Canons of the Church require 30 days notice to the priest to provide adequate time for planning and counseling. Three or four appointments with the priest are usual.
If you desire the sacrament of Holy Baptism
Contact the parish office to schedule an appointment with one of the clergy for baptismal instruction. Baptisms are traditionally celebrated within the context of the Eucharist on five Sundays during the year: The Feast of the Baptism of Our Lord (early January), Easter Eve, Pentecost (early summer), the Sunday following All Saints Day (early November), and when the Bishop is present for his annual visitation.
