Wednesday Night Adult Formation – The Bible in History
Is the Bible really the “word of God”? What exactly is the “Bible,” and how did it come to be in the ancient world? What sort of Bible did Jesus use, and what does it reveal about the cultures he lived in? Finally, how did both Jews and Christians understand and interpret the Bible in the centuries after Jesus? Jonathan Rotondo-McCord will guide us in exploring these questions at 6 p.m. on 10/16, 10/23, and 10/30.

Sunday Adult Formation On 10/20 and 10/27 we will read a deep little spiritual book titled Strength for the Journey: A Guide to Spiritual Practices by Renee Miller. Priest and CREDO conference leader Renée Miller wrote the 20 reflections and grouped them into the categories: Meditative Practice, Ministry Practice, Media Practice, Mind Practice, and Movement Practice. Each entry, accented with color photographs, is aimed at evoking mindfulness in the common activities of life, from music and movie, going to reading, writing, and walking. This collection of thoughtful reflections looks at events and activities of everyday life and discovers routes to spiritual practice and deeper, daily spirituality. Please read half of the book for 10/20 and the other half for 10/27.
