The Acolyte Program offers young people an opportunity to participate in our liturgical life. All baptized youth 6th grade and older are eligible. Once trained, they assist at Sunday services and at others throughout the year. Their ministry is to lead the processions and to assist during the worship services. Trained adults are also welcome. The Altar Guild prepares the church and the altar for all services. They are responsible for the care of the vestments, fair linen, and sacramental vessels. The Flower Guild is an enriching ministry which helps to create an atmosphere of reverence and beauty. Members of the Flower Guild are responsible for the floral adornment of the Altar for all Sunday services and, on holidays, the entire church inside and out. No special skill is required. Greeters are parishioners who try to identify visitors to our services, help them feel welcome, and answer questions about our church. Teams usually work one Sundays a month at the 10:00 a.m., but they are needed for all services. To join this ministry, contact Kathy Turner kturner@christchurchcovington.com.

Guardian Angels Ministry is composed of parishioners trained in first aid and CPR ready to provide lifesaving assistance in the event of a medical emergency during a church service or event.  Contact Penny Bankston, pennybankston@yahoo.com.

The Parish Choir of Christ Church leads the congregation in worship at the 9:00 a.m. service on Sunday mornings and at other designated services throughout the liturgical year. Eucharistic Ministers are trained and licensed to assist the clergy in distributing the consecrated bread and wine at the Holy Eucharist at Christ Church. If you wish to serve as an EM, contact Kathy Turner kturner@christchurchcovington.com

Ushers are a highly visible and active group of volunteers at our services. They welcome worshipers, collate and distribute service sheets, regulate the lighting and sound system, post hymn numbers, handle seating arrangements, take up the collection, and assist in other ways as needed.
