If you missed this because of time constraints or technical difficulties, here is a link to the service. In an elaborate ceremony, the Rev. Canon Shannon Rogers Duckworth was ordained a bishop of The Episcopal Church. The church’s Presiding Bishop, the Most Rev. Michael B. Curry, was the chief consecrator, and joined by other Episcopal and Lutheran bishops from around the country for the traditional laying–on of hands to consecrate the new bishop. Nearly 200 people played a role in the service. These included a festive procession of parish banners (including our banner as well as acolytes from the Northshore Deanery, the Northshore crucifer was from our church); diocesan, ecumenical and civic leaders; clergy and liturgical ministers. The preacher was the Very Rev. Richard Lawson, dean of St. John’s Cathedral, Denver, Colorado.
