A MESSAGE FROM YOUR STEWARDSHIP COMMITTEE
Our vision and our faith in God have led us to do amazing things at Christ Episcopal Church over our 176 years. We hope you will take the time to view our several “Mission Moment” videos during this Annual Stewardship Campaign.
Each of us has our own story about what brought us to this church and what it means to us. We love this church! We ARE the church! Packets of information and an invitation to join us in supporting our church’s 2023 budget have been mailed out to our member list. We hope to receive an Estimate of Giving card from you by October 23rd.
Our goal for this campaign is to achieve at least 200 signed Estimates of Giving and $800,000 in commitments. Our estimated total need for 2023 will be approximately $1,150,000. Every gift is needed and meaningful.
We’re looking forward to a festive picnic event on Sunday, October 23rd, to celebrate our church and its mission. We hope you’ll join us! Questions? Stop by our Sunday Connect table and say hello!
With Gratitude,
Your Stewardship Committee
Mission Moment videos were recorded in our historic Chapel. Parishioners and community partners shared their perspectives about our Church, its ministries and our impact on those we serve. Fr. Seth starts the series in the video below. To read his letter about stewardship to the congregation, click here.
Bruce & Marian Margetson are a beautiful, kind couple and generous supporters of our church and all of its programs. In this intimate video, the Margetsons share what it means to be challenged to embody authentic Christianity, how it isn’t always easy or comfortable, but always life-affirming and rewarding. They offer effusive praise for the history of leadership here, and speak to just how much their outreach work with Mission Commission partner Just Love Your Neighbor’s meal delivery program has touched their lives and the lives of others, and their genuine love of the the whole Christ Church community.
Enjoy this beautiful offering presented here from Harold Barnes where he discusses the importance of his involvement as a member, a volunteer, an Usher and a Eucharistic Minister. In addition to being a “WOW” community and a “safe place” that has always felt like home, Harold describes Christ Church as an environment where he is allowed to lean into the person he feels that God would like to see him be.
When we say “every little bit counts” we really mean it, and we were reminded just how powerful giving can truly be when we sat down with our community outreach mission partners, Rev. Dr. Jarrett Banks from Just Love Your Neighbor, and David Horchar, executive director of Family Promise (2 separate videos below).
The Christ Church Mission Commission outreach program is our church’s vehicle for giving back to the greater community and to those less fortunate than ourselves. This program is one of the many programs that your pledge dollars go to support, and we cannot do it without you. Please take a moment to listen to their moving stories.
Inclusive. Supportive. Loving. Church Family. Fostering spiritual growth through ministry. Grateful. These are some of the ways that Rosemary Replogle and Mary Gerry describe their time in the Christ Church Community; how they were held in times of tragedy and loss, and how they were elevated through music & ministry, spiritual education, and outreach.
Alex Waters and Catie Mackey are two of our newest members – they have generously offered to share with us why they chose Christ Church as their faith community.
